A broker-dealer registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission has received authorization from FINRA to sell tokenized versions of US stocks, exchange-traded funds, mutual funds and index funds to retail investors, with trades settled in dollars, in [stablecoins](https://www.sovereignmagazine.com/article/osl-usdgo-1-billion-institutional-cross-border-payments-2026), or directly wallet to wallet on a blockchain. The approval covers Oasis Pro Markets, a subsidiary of the crypto firm Ondo Finance, and is one of the clearest signals yet that [US securities regulators](https://www.sovereignmagazine.com/article/ripple-the-sec-and-washington-s-changing-crypto-playbook-in-2025) will let tokenized markets run through licensed, supervised broker-dealers rather than treat them as a workaround to be tolerated at the edges.

Under the authorization, Oasis Pro Markets can run over the counter trading, underwrite primary offerings and arrange private placements of tokenized securities, and operate a platform where US issuers list new tokenized offerings while both retail and institutional investors trade them afterward on the secondary market. It can also plug into existing broker-dealers and advisory platforms through omnibus account structures, so institutional investors, registered investment advisers and retirement accounts can reach tokenized securities through the brokers they already use, instead of opening a separate crypto-native account.

Ondo already manages more than 1.6 billion dollars across its existing tokenized real-world-asset products. Its consumer product, Ondo Stocks, lets users mint and redeem tokens tracking more than 200 US equities and ETFs, including Tesla, Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft and Amazon, through wallets such as MetaMask. That product states plainly that its app is not available for US based clients. The new broker-dealer authorization changes that: it gives Ondo a regulated path to reach American retail investors directly, closing the gap its consumer product could not.
