Meta's new personal AI agent, Muse, can now shop across the internet and pay for purchases through Stripe's Link wallet, with US consumers linking their Link account and authorizing Muse to buy on their behalf. On Sept 18 Mark Zuckerberg said in a post on X that developers can now build connectors for Muse, extensions that give the agent new abilities, and that Stripe Link handles the payments for those connectors.

## Muse Pays Two Ways at Checkout

Link carries about 300 million users globally and more than 1 million businesses accept it, [according to Stripe](https://stripe.com/newsroom/news/stripe-helps-meta-muse-shop-with-link). At a business that already takes Link, Muse completes the purchase instantly using the consumer's saved payment method. At a business that does not, Link issues Muse a single-use virtual card restricted to the amount the consumer approves in the chat, and Muse never gains access to the underlying card data.
